Blues boss Paul Sturrock remains confident that there will be new signings in the squad before the players report back for training Friday. Sturrock: 'Tara is also working very hard on the deals we want to happen' Possibily just another 48 hours! Shrimpers manager Paul Sturrock has assured the Echo that Crystal Palace midfielder Alassane N’Diaye, a winger, and another striker, are all in talks to join the club before pre-season training starts again Friday. Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I was in meetings with players yesterday and I will be today and we hope everything is close to being agreed. Tara (Brady) is also working very hard on the deals we want to happen and we’re hopeful of bringing more players to the football club before we come back in for training tomorrow.” We're wait and see, as we've been doing since Neil Harris joined from Millwall, but for now Luggy is looking forward to seeing the squad he has got at the moment. Sturrock continued: “It will be good to get pre-season training underway. I’m sure the players will come back in good shape and it’s certainly very different to when I was a player. We did no training at all and would come back overweight before battling through pre-season to get fit again. Those days have gone now though and it’s a very important time of the year.” Indeed it is, especially after what we all went thorugh last summer, but what about out-of-contract captian Craig Easton and Blair Sturrock, will they be going through their close season routines with the rest of the team? Luggy was short and sweet: “All I will say is that negotiations are continuing with both of them.” Erm, doesn't look like they will be!
