Sturrock finally signs again for Sturrock

11 January 2012 16:08
In what might be considered surprise news after the story broke that another striker could be on the way to Roots Hall, it seems Blair Sturrock has put to pen to paper to stay with Southend United just a little bit longer.

Blair stays a Shrimper

It's confirmed, striker Blair Sturrock has indeed extended his contract at the club!

His last contract ended after the Daggers game Monday and we've waited ever since with baited breath, but the Echo, hot from the training ground at Thursday's media update, has tweeted that the son of Luggy has agreed a new deal.

Awaiting how long that actually is, maybe just another six months, but with supensions and injuries always around, as well as last season's top scorer Barry Corr seemingly lost to us for a reasonable time yet, Blair is a decent enough option on the subs bench which the Jedi master seems content enough to fill, if he can get on it!

He can't be at the top of the wage structure as well, which with Roots Hall becoming transfer junction all of a sudden, is all well and good!
