The 34-year-old came off the bench in last Friday's 3-2 win over Hartlepool for his first appearance in over a month after a thigh injury. And the former Scotland international, who is set to improve his fitness further in a reserve-team outing on Wednesday, is hoping that he can help his side wipe out the six-point deficit between them and the play-off places. "It's just great to be back involved and around the lads both in training and in matches," Freedman told The Echo. "I've never been one to set myself targets of goals and games but the lads have done brilliantly just lately and hopefully I can use my experience to help them out a bit more in the games we have left as we try to get into the play-offs. "The team have been playing superbly and with the way we've been defending we always have a chance of winning games."
