Spencer on Tranmere Rovers

Striker Scott Spencer is well aware of the importance of the Shrimpers v Rovers clash at Roots Hall Saturday afternoon. SOUTHEND United striker Scott Spencer has labelled Saturday's showdown with Tranmere Rovers as a massive match for his side. The struggling Shrimpers are now just two points above the relegation zone, which currently includes Tranmere. And Spencer believes that makes the showdown between the sides at Roots Hall hugely significant. "There's no hiding the fact that this is a massive, massive game and we need a win," said Spencer, 21. "We're just above Tranmere in the league table and would love to extend that gap even further by getting the three points. "I thought we played some good stuff the other night at Colchester on what was a joke of a pitch but unfortunately it just wasn't our night."
