Noel Hunt back in Southend frame after injury

Fit-again Southend striker Noel Hunt is expected to be in contention against Bury at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers' match at Bradford was postponed last week because of rain, so Phil Brown's injury-hit squad had some extra recovery time.

Midfielder Michael Timlin has missed four matches with a foot injury, but is likely to be involved again, along with Gary Deegan, fit again after an ankle problem to make the bench for the recent Johnstone Paint Trophy tie against Millwall.

Winger Stephen McLaughlin (toe) continues his recovery from a toe problem.

Bury manager David Flitcroft has a number of uncertainties.

There are still doubts over whether defender Chris Hussey (virus) and striker Leon Clarke (intercostal injury) will be fit enough in time after the pair were absent in the Shakers' 1-0 win against Chesterfield last weekend.

Clarke is Bury's leading striker and his injury prompted Flitcroft to recall teenager Anthony Dudley from his loan spell Guiseley, where he scored five goals in seven appearances.

On-loan Leicester winger Joe Dodoo is expected to play his final game for the club but Flitcroft believes his side can adapt with Danny Pugh, "who can fit in as a left-back, on the left of midfield and in the centre of midfield", and winger Danny Mayor fitting in the number 10 role.
