Suspended pair absent for Shrimpers John Spicer and Barry Corr will both be suspended for Southend's home clash against bottom club Barnet but Gavin Tomlin and Mark Phillips could return. Spicer was shown a red card just 13 minutes into Tuesday's 1-0 defeat against Burton and now serves a three-match ban, joining striker Corr as he serves the second game of his three-match punishment for his dismissal at Plymouth. Forward Gavin Tomlin (groin) returned to training on Thursday and will be involved should he not suffer any ill-effects. Like Tomlin, centre-back Mark Phillips (groin) has also missed the last three matches and was back in training on Friday with a view to being assessed ahead of the weekend. Winless Barnet go into the game with just two points from their opening 10 matches in League Two this season. Goalkeeper Graham Stack returns for struggling Barnet. Stack was suspended as the Bees slumped to their eighth defeat of the season, 2-1 against Exeter on Tuesday night. Back-up keeper Liam O'Brien was on the bench despite a recent hernia op with teenager Sam Cowler handed his full debut but Stack should reclaim his place. Striker Ishmail Kamara is unlikely to be fit after missing out against Exeter with a shoulder injury. Former Fulham frontman Collins John has yet to make his Bees debut following his recent switch to Underhill and his fitness will be assessed. Fellow forward Steve Kabba and defender Danny Senda remain on the sidelines as they recover from long-term knee injuries.
