Southend United's Sturrock and Patterson on their way after Hereford, Hereford F.C., Bulls snub

Their has been plenty of calls for permanent bench warming strikers Matt Paterson and Scott Spencer a chance, however against Hereford they weren't even in their usual positions! The Shrimpers faithful have not held back in their criticism of Blues boss paul Sturrock's continuing preference of his son Blair over two strikers from Tilly's reign, Matt Paterson and Scott Spencer. Both have only made fleeting appearances from the subs bench as son of Luggy has done very little in the Blues fall into the lower reaches of League Two.However, the two forwards did not even travel to Hereford for today's game, and with Blair grabbing an assist and the third goal at Edgar Street, while back from Dover Harry Crawford and loanee Cardiff striker Nathaniel Jarvis were both named as substitutes against the Bulls, are the Tilly Two on there way out of Roots Hall? As Luggy himself said about Paterson at the Shrimpers Trust Q&A:"He's down the pecking order at the moment because he's not shown enough in the friendlies. In training sometimes you'll see something that gives you hope and optimism. Scott Spencer and Harry Crawford come into the same category. Do I work on them, or do I look to move them on is my quandary."Maybe it's not such a quandry anymore, and have words been spoken?Expect one or both players to be given a loan chance at clubs elsewhere, a shame and it would continue the Tilly era clear-out of players that would only leave left-back Johnny Herd, who could go at any moment, and midfielder Anthony Grant, who is playing so well at the moment he couldn't be left out, other than with the five yellow cards we believe he's now received after another booking in Herefordshire Saturday afternoon!
