Southend United's Paul Sturrock on injury crisis after Shrewsbury Town before Stevenage

Blues boss Paul Sturrock was overjoyed to gain a point after the tough trip to Shrewsbury, but now has it all to do again at Stevenage Tuesday night with a numberv of his squad still out injured. Sturrock: RYAN Hall and Sofiene Zaaboub were both ruled out of Saturday's game at Shrewsbury Town. And manager Paul Sturrock does not expect them to be fit enough to face Stevenage Borough on Tuesday night. "We're missing a few players and even some of those we've had to play are suffering knocks and niggles so I must be pleased to take a point and I thought it was a fair result too." But Sturrock - who was missing Ryan Hall, Sofiene Zaaboub, Chris Barker and Mark Phillips - is keen to soon have a fully fit squad. "Ryan has a knee problem and Sofi is out with back trouble which is a real shame for both of them," said the Scotsman. "I can't see them recovering in time to play on Tuesday either." "We're a better team than the league table suggests but we need to be healthy," said Sturrock. "I'm confident that once we are we can push on during the second half of the season and build on results like this we're getting. "At the moment though, the injuries keep altering the shape of the side and we're having to play people out of position.
