Southend United boss Paul Sturrock is expected to make changes for this weekend's game at Accrington Stanley, but one player will be involved, the winger out on bail, Ryan Hall! Sturrock: 'I did notice a sluggishness among the team in training last week'In his weekly Echo column Blues boss Paul Sturrock has confirmed he will make changes after berating himself for sticking to an unchanged line-up before the 2-0 home defeat to Shewsbury, who did go on to beat Tilly's Lincoln 5-1 away on Tuesday, when he noticed 'sluggishness among the team in training, before the match. A no win situation for Luggy maybe, the team were undefetaed in five and had won their last three games, but he is paid to make tough decisions, and he will not make the same mistake choice, not that's he's got a huge squad to choose from, with one less if striker Matt Paterson has gone to Stockport, and of course, the injured Bilel Mohsni, a major blow.As is the news that in-form winger Ryan Hall could be in custody for the rest of the season after the Northampton home game at the end of the month, but for now, he plays!Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: "Ryan will very much remain part of the team during this time. He will be in consideration for the game at Accrington this weekend." I have been relying on the same set of players for seven or eight games now and, late last week, I did notice a sluggishness among the team in training. As for the influential French Tunisian centre-back?Sturrock continued: "It's a blow to be without Bilel but we have Graham Coughlan and Mark Phillips both fit again now. Graham, who had been struggling with a hamstring problem, has trained the last couple of days and Mark did himself no harm at all with his performance in the reserves against Luton Town on Tuesday. He played the full 90 minutes, and it was pleasing to see Kyle Asante do very well too. He had been out for a year with a cruciate ligament injury but scored a hat-trick and has now forced his way into the first team squad. He showed good speed and sharpness and deserves to be rewarded. I'm pleased the reserves, like the youth team, are now doing well and we're certainly moving in the right direction."Certainly Asante's display in the 4-0 Blues Two's hammering of Luton reserves stood out and who knows we could see a Crawford/Asante axis against Stanley to give Blair Sturrock a break.Certainly, top scorer Corr has been a shadow of his former self in the last couple of games. As for the defeat and trying to get back to winning ways as soon as possible at the weekend, Luggy was in warning mode. Sturrock said: "It was always going to take time but it was disappointing our recent run ended against Shrewsbury. But they again showed during the week with a 5-1 win at Lincoln City, who had also been in great form, that they are a strong side. Shrewsbury have real ambitions to be promoted but we want to bounce back from the defeat against them when we head to Accrington on Saturday. They're a good team who are well organised and hard to beat. They have drawn their last two games and will be very difficult opponents for us."
