Southend United's Paul Sturrock and Wycombe Wanderers Gary Waddock before Torquay United

Both Southend United manager Paul Sturrock and Wycombe Wanderers boss Gary Waddock had their say after the Shrimpers 3-2 victory at Roots Hall Tuesday evening. Sturrock: What a second half! When son of Luggy missed our penalty, and then Wycombe scored their own on 89 minutes, it seemed fair to say we had blown our chances to pick up the win, until Captain Craig stepped up and struck as sweet a winner as you're likely to see this side of Essex 13 seconds into time added on!Whatever Blues boss said at the break certainly did the business, from not one shot on target in the first 45 to three goals and, more importantly, three points, only three away from the play-off zone.Sturrock told BBC Essex: "I had words at half-time. I think we shaded the second half in terms of the goals we needed, we were a much better side. [In the] first half we were not at the races. We are climbing the table very, very slowly and I always wanted to be on the coat tails of the play-offs."
