Southend United's Bilel Mohsni ready to stay up front after Bury before Macclesfield Town & Barnet

Southend United's centre-back come forward Bilel Mohsni headed home a stoppage time equaliser against Bury on Friday, and is ready to stay up front against Macclesfield Town! Mohsni, who normally features as a defender, came on up front as a late second-half substitute and scored in injury time to secure Blues a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall. And the 23-year-old feels he could be about to carve open a new career in the game. "I enjoyed playing as a striker and I think I should play there more often now. I played there in a few training drills on Thursday when we went through defending set pieces and it was enjoyable. "Scoring the goal was even better though and I like it up there. But, after being out injured for a little while, playing out there anywhere would be brilliant." Mohsni had been sidelined by an ankle injury since picking up the problem against Cheltenham Town in mid-December. He had been expected to miss out on facing the Shakers but manager Paul Sturrock opted to throw him on for the final 13 minutes and he responded by bagging his second goal of the season. "It had been frustrating being out so I'm glad to be back and my ankle feels fine. The physio has done a good job getting me back and I would be ready to start against Macclesfield tomorrow night if the gaffer wants me too — maybe even up front."
