Southend United's Anthony Grant on penalty against Chesterfield before Crewe Alexandra

Blues midfielder Anthony Grant was unhappy with the penalty decision that gave Chesterfield the lead Saturday afternoon but accepts if you miss chances you don't win games. If losing to an injury time goal wasn't bad enough, poor old Granty insists the ref got it wrong when he gave the penalty for Chesterfield's opening goal in their 2-1 win over the Shrimpers Saturday.Grant told www.southendunited.co.uk: "It wasn't a penalty, to be fair.He jumped over me and fell to the floor. I didn't even move my leg but these things happen sometimes. It summed up our day and now we need to go again and learn from this when we play against Crewe next weekend." However, Granty accepted that his side have only themselves to blame. He explained: "If you don't put away your chances then anything can happen and we've seen that here. After the first 20 minutes I thought we were on top, we equalised and then should have gone on to score more. We created chances, which is something which we have been working on in training, but didn't take them. Josh (Simpson) and Louie (Soares) both know they should have scored but they've scored already this season and I'm sure they will again soon."
