For all the rumours of a striker nobody came up with this one! The Shrimpers have been turned down by Conference North side Solihull Moors for their top scorer, Adam Cunnington! Adam Cunnington thinking about the advantage of Southend over SolihullConference North team Solihull Moors have insisted they have turned down more than one offer for their 12 goals top scorer Adam Cunnington. In fact scouts have been flocking to west midlands to see the club's 23-year-old summer signing from Barwell, which we are told is in Leicestershire. Are you sitting comfortably? No, we hadn't heard of them as well!Solihull Moors F.C. was founded in 2007 by the merger of Moor Green and Solihull Borough. Go here:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solihull_Moors_F.C.Anyway, it's Solihull assistant manager Micky Moore who is insisting we've been chasing him for a while, a legacy of sacked No.2 Tommy Widdrington perhaps, and he seems to accept if we up the dosh a touch Adam could be on his way.  Moore told www.birminghammail.net: "Adam has done really well for us and when you have a striker scoring goals you are going to get a lot of interest. We have had one offer from Southend which was turned down a few months ago.  We have always said that if it's the right offer for the club, and the right offer for Adam, we would never stand in his way. But we don't want to lose him."Here's a report where he got a couple of goals:www.sundaymercury.net/midlands-sport/midlands-non-league-football/2011/01/02/two-goal-adam-cunnington-helps-solihull-moors-sink-redditch-united-66331-27919068/Tilly's gone, we look all over the UK now!As it happens, even if young Adam did sign for us he'd have to sit out the next three games after a red card shown to him against Droylsden.Whatever happens, I love these club names, hope we keep trying.
