Southend United sign Cardiff City youngster on loan ready for Hereford, Hereford F.C., Bulls

Southend United have secured the services of Cardiff youngster Nathaniel Jarvis on a one-month loan after a promising performance in the reserves in midweek at Stevenage, he can play against Hereford United. The 18-year-old has not appeared for the Bluebirds' first team, although he has been among the first-team substitutes this season after impressing for the youth and reserve sides.Following the striker's good performance for Southend's reserves against Stevenage, boss Paul Sturrock has opted to push through the deal."He is a player I have seen a couple of times," Sturrock told the club's official website. "His attitude to play is excellent and he is very quick so that will benefit the team."New Southend loan signing Nathaniel Jarvis will go straight into the squad for the trip to Hereford.The 18-year-old has yet to make a first-team appearance for parent club Cardiff but finished last season as top scorer for the Under-18 side.But boss Paul Sturrock will again be without skipper Craig Easton, who is set to miss the next two weeks with a calf injury.Mark Phillips and Sofiene Zaaboub are also unavailable but they are expected to return to training on Monday as they bid to regain full fitness. Matt Patterson and Scott Spencer are pushing for starts with Sturrock's son Blair possibly making way, while Rhys Evans and Adam Bouzid hope to be in contention.
