Blues left-back Peter Gilbert believes his new side will overcome their financial problems to make a real bid for promotion next season, and he does have previous working with manager Paul Sturrock at Plymouth Argyle. Gilbert: 'I want to win the league'Left-back Peter Gilbert is ready to sign a two-year contract once the club's pays off it's loan to the PFA and the transfer embargo is lifted. And there's no doubt it's his working relationship with Peter told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I want to win the league. When I was with the manager at Plymouth we won the league in our first season and now I want to do the same with Southend, which I think is possible. We want to get promotion and win a few games, but I do firmly believe there is a bright future for this football club."
