Blues left-back Peter Gilbert believes his new side will overcome their financial problems to make a real bid for promotion next season, and he does have previous working with manager Paul Sturrock at Plymouth Argyle. Gilbert: 'I want to win the league'Left-back Peter Gilbert is ready to sign a two-year contract once the club's pays off it's loan to the PFA and the transfer embargo is lifted. And there's no doubt it's his working relationship with Peter told "I want to win the league. When I was with the manager at Plymouth we won the league in our first season and now I want to do the same with Southend, which I think is possible. We want to get promotion and win a few games, but I do firmly believe there is a bright future for this football club."
