Southend United look to Premier League for transfer targets but no decision on Liverpool's Banton

Blues boss Paul Sturrock has been reported as having a list of up to six targets as youth returns to the top of his agenda but still cannot make his mind up on Liverpool's Jason Banton. Luggy still looking as possible loan targetsBlues are keen to bolster their squad before Saturday's trip to Lincoln City. And manager Paul Sturrock has identified at least half a dozen players he would like to sign on loan. "Paul has drawn up a list of targets and the club are doing their best to make it happen," confirmed a source close to the Blues. "He obviously isn't going to be able to sign all the players on the list, but he does hope to get a couple of them." Southend are particularly keen to strengthen their options in attack and two Premier League youngsters who can play up front are on their wanted list. Another target is a striker who is currently out of favour at a top League One club. Sturrock has also yet to make up his mind on Liverpool youngster Jason Banton. The 18-year-old, who can play up front or on the wing, has been training with Blues for the past week and could also be snapped up on loan.
