Southend United boss Sturrock pleased for players after Carling Cup victory over Bristol City

It's taken him nine goes, but Southend manager Paul Sturrock has finally won a Carling Cup tie, but his praise was all saved for the players. Sturrock: 'I'm very pleased for everyone at the football club'Southend United's shock 3-2 win over Championship Bristol City in Tuesday evening's Carling Cup first round was a rare one in the league cup for Blues boss paul Sturrock, who has only won once in this competition in nine attempts during since becoming a manager!However, after the game, he only had words for his side of winning Shrimpers.Sturrock told Blues Player: "I'm pleased for the players, we showed tonight we are a squad, and not just a team. There were lots of players who did not let us down. I'm very pleased for everyone at the football club. The boys did all the right things, including Barry Corr's first goal. I don't want to single out anybody it was a great squad performance."
