Southend United boss issues call to arms before Bury

After two successive defeats and a tough trip to Bury at the weekend Southend United manager Paul Sturrock needs all the help he and his side can get. Sturrock: 'Wait until after the final whistle before making frustrations known'17th in the table and two tough games to come against teams presently in the top four, away to Bury then Rotherham at Roots Hall, not a great time for Blues boss Paul Sturrock to make the wrong tactical decision he made last Saturday against Crewe in the 2-0 defeat, an error he has now admitted to.However, he is just finding out that the Shrimpers faithful do not hang around in making their feelings known, not helping the players on the pitch at the time, but quite understandable when you consider what we've had to put up with over the last year.Anyway, the frustrated manager has a right to have a go we suppose, and he has.Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "I understand that the fans are exasperated after seeing two relegations in four years and I would like to thank them for staying with us but it would be even better if they could now become our 12th man. We want them to be making plenty of noise and if they are frustrated at how things are going then it would be great if they could wait until after the final whistle before making that known." And as for those who can't even be bothered to turn up and moan, Luggy had something to say about that as well.He continued: "It would also be brilliant if some of those who have stayed away so far would come back to watch our games too." Good luck mate.
