Southend United 1 Port Vale 3 - Sorry Shrimpers send Valiants home victorious

21 August 2010 18:51
Southend United 1 Port Vale 3 - This was as poor a performance that any Blues side has put in for many a season as the visitors left Roots Hall with the points after dominating in all departments. There will be a full report when I can get over the shock of this display, unless Luggy gets his 'strongest' eleven playing together sooner rather than later this could be a very long season indeed, lets face it we couldn't have argued if the final score had been 6-1!But full credit to Micky Adams Port Vale who look like they will be challenging for promotion come the later parts of the season, then again he's a season ahead of Paul Sturrock in creating a side as strong as the one that defeated a very disappointing Shrimpers this afternoon. Npower League Two, Saturday, 21st August 2010 @ 15:00Owen 88 (og) Richards 5Dodds 54Richards 83 Starting Line-ups 1 Morris 2 Clohessy 5 Coughlan 16 Prosser (Phillips 46)23 Barker 17 Soares 11 Zaaboub (Corr 57)7 Grant 8 Easton 21 Sturrock (Spencer 69)9 Paterson  Substitutes 6 Bilel 4 Simpson 15 Phillips (Prosser 46)12 Hall 24 Evans 28 Spencer (Sturrock 69)10 Corr (Zaaboub 57)51.1%Possession48.9%0Goal Attempts30On Target30Off Target00Hit Woodwork07Corners1 Starting Line-ups 12 Tomlinson 2 Yates 15 Collins 6 Owen 5 McCombe 22 Roberts 17 Rigg (Taylor 82)4 Griffith 8 Dodds (Bell-Baggie 85)9 Richards, M (Malbon 90)11 Richards, J  Substitutes 3 Taylor, R (Rigg 82)24 Johnson 23 Bell-Baggie (Dodds 85)18 Morsy 10 Fraser 14 Taylor, K 19 Malbon (Richards 90)RefereeRoger EastAttendance4,946Southend Utd.
