Simpson: Shrimpers must be clinical

Southend's Josh Simpson says the club need to find their killer instinct to take maximum points from Port Vale on Saturday. The Blues have taken just one point from their opening two league games of the season after drawing 1-1 with Stockport and losing 1-0 to Aldershot. Simpson, on loan from Peterborough, is keen to make an impact this weekend and told the Echo: "I think we've shown what we can do in glimpses but we need to kill teams off and we want to do that against Port Vale. "Once we get one win I think things will become a little bit easier for us because the pressure will be off. But for that to happen we need to take more of the half chances coming our way. "I had a couple at Aldershot on Saturday and we need to put them away if we are to get the results our performances have deserved."
