The former Southampton FC forward is to try his luck at the Gills in a friendly against Championship side Peterborough United this Saturday afternoon. As we wonder if the lesser-spotted Harry Crawford was seen at Kettering last night, the striker at the top of CEO Tara Brady's get rid off list, especially with a wage bill that could probably pay all three of the Shrimpers recent signings, the former Southampton boy Matt Paterson is going to get a chance by Gillingham in a pre-season friendly against Peterborough United. It seems that Patters can play two games with our Kent-based League Two rivals after turning out a couple of times for Oxford United in their recent tour to the States.
