Blues stand-in captain and centre-back Chris Barker has accepted the blame for his part in the home defeat to Morecambe Saturday afternoon: 'it wasn't good enough'. Barker: 'We haven't become an average team overnight' Central defender Chris Barker was wearing the skippers armband as regular captain Craig Easton is out injured for up to a month. And in a game full of defensive errors Barker stood up and took his share of the blame, sadly his error happened to be the third and decisive Morecambe goal after the Shrimpers had fought back twice to draw level.Chris spoke to Blues Player: "I gave the ball away for the third goal and it wasn't good enough. I've lost the game for us and it was my fault. It's an understatement to say it was disappointing. All three goals were very basic and although it was a very nice start to the day in being named captain it was certainly a very disappointing end."What's upsetting to the Blues faithful is that two successive league defeats have followed on from the good form shown when winning three on the trot and Barker knows the team have to get back to winning ways as soon as possible, starting with the trip to second-from-bottom Hereford next Saturday. He concluded: "Two weeks ago we beat the team top of the table and we haven't become an average team overnight. We need to start again now and make sure we kick on."
