Dagenham & Redbridge: The game might have been tougher than we thought but, hey, three points and all that, but as for the players, it was all about the 1,500, and maybe a few more!

Phillips: 'Well, that was a funny old game'

We are, still, top of the league, and the players certainly appreciated the support they got from behind the goal, to the side, well, all over Victoria Stadium in their 3-2 win over Dagenham & Redbridge Saturday afternoon.

As ever, centre-back Mark Phillips was in there first.

He tweeted: 'Fans were unbelievable today....thank u from the whole team...much appreciated.'

As we were with the win, as for the game itself.

Mark said: 'Well that was a funny old game...never nice at daggers but we got the 3 points we needed so onwards and upwards ...'

Cannot argue with that.

Scorer Liam Dickinson wrote: 'Good win, good performance, good goal, good assist just a mingin drive bk 2 manchester'

We're forget the northern bit, but as for loanee keepe Luke Daniels, nothing on that wierd first Dagger goal but.........

He said: 'Brilliant support from the fans today. Good 3 points. Personally disappointed but go again Tuesday.'

Fair enough, but let's not forget the brace boy Kane Ferdinand himslf.

He told the Echo: 'We didn't really play well but it's the result that matters. For me I was pleased to get two more goals'

And quite right too, but let's leave the final word to Mr. Phillips, and we wont mention the Dr. Pepper and Dad's Army fixation, the best tweeter of them all!

Mark: 'Ice pack on leg....cheers Peter Gilbert for absolute stitch up pass to put them through in the 93rd minute...legs in tatters taking him down'

'Nuff said.

(Though Blair asked: 'Anybody got space in the car back to Southend?' Bless.)
