Shrimpers snap up Sawyer
Southend have completed the signing of former Chelsea youngster Lee Sawyer on a free transfer after he cancelled his month-to-month contract with Woking by mutual consent.
The midfielder has signed a contract to keep him at Roots Hall until the end of the season, with an option to extend the deal to another year.
This will be Sawyer's third spell at the club after two previous loan stints.
The 21-year-old made 13 appearances and scored three goals in his first spell in 2008/09, while his second term in 2009/10 ended prematurely as he breached club discipline.
