Blues goalkeeper Glenn Morris has had plenty of criticism thrown at him by the Shrimpers faithful but bounced back at the Priestfield Tuesday evening with a fine display. Glenn Morris in his Borient days: 'Yes, I was disappointed about Hereford goal' Blues boss Paul Sturrock was full of praise for his keeper Glenn Morris after the 0-0 draw with the Gills.Morris followed up a great save from Cody McDonald's acrobatic effort by denying both Adebayo Akinfenwa and Chris Palmer at the Priestfield Stadium Tuesday.Luggy said after the game: "In the second half, Glenn Morris atoned for the mistake he made on Saturday. He made some great saves. That's what being a goalkeeper is all about, he's done very well."Meanwhile, the former Orient shot stopper knows he has to maintain this sort of form with deputy Rhys Evans sitting on the bench, but first he spoke about that first goal conceded early on against the Bulls last weekend. Morris spoke to www.southendunited.co.uk: "It was a mad five minutes against Hereford but after we defended well and played well. It was disappointing to concede in that manner on Saturday as it was a nasty one that was swung in under the bar - a couple of my own players were challenging me - but yes I was disappointed."Fair enough I suppose, but even the harshest of Morris critics would accept he did the business in the goalless draw in Kent Tuesday evening. He continued: "We knew that Gillingham were strong at home and that it was going to be a tough game so we will take a draw, especially after the win on Saturday. We probably had the better chances in the first half so we felt disappointed not to be one or two up at half-time. The second half they really threw everything at us and we only really had a couple of chances towards the end. A draw though was probably right." Glenn knows his teammates have to improve their recent form at Roots Hall but looks forward to the challange that Lincoln City will provide Saturday afternoon. The Shrimpers No.1 concluded: "Everyone is very happy with how things are going, we are midtable but it is so early and tight that we know if we win on Saturday we will be right on everyone's coat tails."
