Southend United and former Leyton Orient keeper Glenn Morris has confirmed his future is at Roots Hall for at least another season and sees only good times ahead with promotion the prority. Glenn Morris; Will be the Shrimpers No.1 for 2011/12Having signed his new deal only last week Shrimpers keeper Glenn Morris can go on a well deserved break hoping that a real promotion push can take place in south-east Essex next season.Morris told www.echo-news.co.uk: "It's great to have got the contract sorted because I really do think we have a chance of promotion here next season. I think the target has to be a place in the top three and if we then end up in the play-offs then it's still a great achievement. We've been together a year now and I'm sure the manager will bring in more signings in the summer, so I'm sure we're well placed to have a successful season." And we all say Amen to that Glenn, but having seen off another former Orient keeper in Rhys Evans, now released, how does the London born shot stopper view really see the goings on at Roots Hall, which, let's face it, are never dull! Morris continued: "We were a new team last year and it was well documented that the manager had to make a lot of signings in a short space of time, so I think we did well. People were tipping us for relegation but at one stage we were only just outside the play-offs. We now want to move on and it's consistency that is the key." And let's hope that's what we see from early August next time around.Luggy's happy:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/news/tmnw/sturrock_smiling_as_shrimpers_shot_stoppers_sorted_the_squad_is_really_starting_to_take_shape_now_678188/index.shtmlNow after all this can't believe we need a new keeper, let's have you're thoughts on where the Shrimpers squad should be strengthened here:www.southendunited-mad.co.uk/interactive/voting_polls.asp(Not an exact science, i.e. put attacking central midfielder or striker who lays off Big Baz, but it will give an idea of where the thinking that the team are weakest.)
