Shrimpers quartet want to play elsewhere

So that's it for Tilly's squad! Franck Moussa, Francis Laurent, Jean-Francois Christophe and Stuart O'Keefe have all requested to quit the Shrimpers! The Moose wants to roam away from Roots Hall along with three of his matesJohnny Herd must be feeling very lonely! The clearout of Tilly's old squad is almost complete if the Moose, Francis, Jeff and Stuart get their wish to leave Southend United.None of them took to the pitch at Dartford in Friday's 2-0 defeat but new boss Paul Sturrock is already making bullish statements.Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "All four have said they no longer want to play for Southend United. With that in mind I didn't feel it appropriate to include them in the team at Dartford."Oh dear, it's going to be a very strange eleven, and a stranger scoreline at the end, that take to the pitch Monday at Roots Hall against Derby in the next pre-season friendly, though it's doubtful to include Scott Spencer and Barry Corr who are both injured. Anyway, Sturrock continued about the gang of four: "Their hearts wouldn't be in it which is no good to us at this moment in time as we try to get ready for the start of the season. Equally if they were to get injured that has a knock on for both the player and the club. If they do end up leaving then we will replace them with more new signings who want to be a part of what we are building here."Good luck with the 'building' Paul, though do try and make sure Ron pays the players this time around, oh yes and the PFA so these 'signings' can actually turn out against Stockport on August 7.That is if we haven't been wound-up five days previously!More on this as it comes through obviously, and Crystal Palace are rumoured to be interested in young Stuart O'Keefe, but following this club has become very difficult over the last 12 months let alone reporting on it!Tomorrow is another day, somebody once said.
