Blues boss Paul Sturrock has admitted there's a few "niggles and knocks" to worry about before he chooses the team for Tuesday's Carling Cup First Round game against Bristol City. Sturrock: 'Hope we can get a result to keep ourselves good financially' Shrimpers manager Paul Sturrock has some concerns before selecting his side for the Roots Hall encounter with Championship Bristol City in the first round of the Carling Cup Tuesday evening. Left-back Peter Gilbert has an ankle problem and is likely to miss the first few weeks of the season.Winger Ryan Hall, suspended for Saturday's league opener against Stockport, is back in contention but a virus means he is likely to start on the bench.Summer signings Bilel Mohsni and Adam Bouzid are not expected to feature as the club are still waiting for their international clearance. And though Sturrock wants his side to get a positive result against the Robins, who lost 3-0 at home to millwall at the weekend, he's decided to give his fringe players a run out, and there's still a few we didn't see Saturday!Paul told www.southendunited.co.uk: "We want to be as competitive as possible and hope we can get a result to keep ourselves good financially. I'm going to give several of my other players an opportunity tomorrow because I really have got to have a look at people and get people up to match fitness."
