Shrimpers Injury Update: 'Bilel being Bilel I'm sure he'll play'

Southend United manager Paul Sturrock has had his squad stretched this weekend as it is not helped by the news that possible striking replacement Bilel Mohsni has picked up 'that' virus! Bilel Mohsni: Fighting for fitness to face the Cobblers Shrimpers centre-back come possible striker for the weekend League Two game with Northampton Town, the one and only Bilel Mohsni, has been hit by that dodgy virus that's been doing the rounds at Roots Hall. The French Tunisian was expected to lead the line up front along with son of Blues boss Paul Sturrock Blair with Liam Dickinson suspended for the next three matches, and injured fellow striker Neil Harris who has a dodgy groin. However, Luggy now has another potential problem on his hands. Sturrock told www.echo-news.co.uk: “Bilel is suffering from the same bug Glenn Morris and Ryan Hall had last week and he didn’t train yesterday because of it. It’s not ideal but Bilel being Bilel I’m sure he’ll play and we’re starting to see the real him again. There’s a freshness about him now that Ramadan has finished and his energy levels will soon be back to normal. He can start to eat properly again and that will help him because his levels had been waning in the last few weeks and that’s why we put him on the bench.” Harry Crawford and Blair, no can't see that working, so come on Bilel, shake off that runny nose and get out there. Your adopted town need you! Elsewhere, having shaken off the same bug, winger Ryan Hall should take the place of thigh injury victim Lee Sawyer.
