Shrimpers duo farmed out to Farnborough
A couple of Southend United midfielders are going to gain more experience by playing in the Conference South for Farnborough on loan. Shrimpers midfielders George Smith and Alex Woodyard have joined Conference South side Farnborough on loan initially for a month. Of two 18-year olds it's Woodyard who ahs tasted league action when he made his debut in the defeat at Burton Albion last December and has gone on to make two further appearances. Alex will be unavailable this weekend as he's on duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-19s. Meanwhile, young George has been on loan at Ryman Premier Division team Great Wakering Rovers, but has yet to turn out for the senior side.
