Shrimpers dig in: 'Thought the boys put in a proper shift'
Oxford United: Southend United centre-back Mark Phillips grabbed his sixth goal of the season Saturday afternoon in the 2-1 vistory over Oxford, and was full of praise for the hard work tthe side had to put in to come away with the points. Phillips scores at Port Vale, he's now grabbed four since! Goal machine Mark Phillips is now joint second in the Shrimpers golden boot charts with six with Liam Dickinson, (I've told him penalties shouldn't count'), one behind Ryan Hall who now has seven.
