The 18-year-old has not appeared for the Bluebirds' first team, although he has been among the first-team substitutes this season after impressing for the youth and reserve sides. Following the striker's good performance for Southend's reserves against Stevenage, boss Paul Sturrock has opted to push through the deal. "He is a player I have seen a couple of times," Sturrock told the club's official website. "His attitude to play is excellent and he is very quick so that will benefit the team."
