Shrimpers cancel Ipswich clash
Southend's pre-season friendly against Ipswich on Friday at Roots Hall has been cancelled.
The Shrimpers have only just returned for pre-season training under new manager Paul Sturrock, who was appointed as Steve Tilson's successor on Monday.
Ipswich club secretary Sally Webb told Town's official website: "Paul spoke to Roy [Keane] and told him that unfortunately he wasn't in a position to put out a competitive team."
Southend have confirmed that fans who had already bought tickets will be given a full refund.
