Shrimpers boss lays down gauntlet

The 3-0 defeat to Swindon on Tuesday saw the Shrimpers fall five points adrift of the top six, with some of their play-off rivals also holding a game in hand. Carlisle visit Roots Hall on Saturday and Tilson is hopeful his side can keep their promotion dream alive. "We've got five home games and three away games left and you've got to hope. Even before Tuesday it was a massive ask for us," Tilson told the club's official website. "We've got 55 points and the lads have done well to get themselves out of the little hole they were in so credit to them. We've had a lot of games, we've got a small squad and the players looked a little tired on Tuesday night. "We've been unbelievable in the last couple of months. We've got two home games coming up and we'll be doing all we can to win them both."
