The Shrimpers were expected to challenge at the sharp end of the table after a play-off semi-final defeat last season, but were hamstrung by a run of just one win in 13 outings midway through the campaign and ended up finishing in eighth place.[LNB]"It's been a very hard season," United's assistant manager said. "But it's been a fantastic performance from everyone involved that we've ended up with a top-10 place.[LNB]"We believe that most of the players in our squad are young enough to improve and if they do that and we can get a level of consistency, then we can be a force in this division.[LNB]"It remains a challenge to get in towards the top six of this division."[LNB][LNB]
