Shrimpers agent payments continue downward trend

The club have confirmed how much was passed over to agents in a very tough financial period for the Blues between October 2009 and September 2010. The official website has revealed Southend United payed agents £50,400 between October 1st 2009 and September 30th 2010 for general consultancy and various player dealings. Not bad really considering all of Blues boss Paul Sturrock's dealings over the summer! And as we can read below, still less than this time last year, at least we saved the 25p, and continues a downward trend however small. (Though many would like to see the club pay the leeches bugger all!)From Shrimpers 24 December 1st 2009Southend United have confirmed that they paid £56,104.25, (25p, who was that for!), to agents for services rendered between October 1st, 2008 to September 30th, 2009.Something most clubs have to deal with nowadays, though some are worse than others, this is a small amount compared to what we actually owed the tax man! It's also down from the last Football League report when the Shrimpers placed £78,820 in agents pockets between July 2008 and June 2009.
