Roman Holiday: Porn, conspiracy theories & security protection!

27 April 2011 01:56
The service from S24 has not been brilliant over the Easter holiday, and we're still not sure what happened, but strange images appearing while the editor was away add to the mystery! When in Rome; S24 hit the security buffersJust two weeks left in our long season, and something goes wrong now! It's not been a great Easter weekend here at S24 Towers, Good Friday was OK, more than OK after that great win over Stevenage, but for the next 72 hours events have taken on a strange turn!Poor EEB almost chocked on his double expresso during his short Easter break in the Italian capital when he logged on to the site and found his hard worked on preview for the Macclesfield game was not to be seen, and as for team updates and an actual report from yours truly, well, they were written, but out of view as well. The bottom line was that when I tried the password that our esteemed editor had given me to gain entry to the site my PC just went ballastic and eventually just broke down! Now I'm not making any accusations, and because some attractive Asian ladies seemingly tied to a tree flickered into view before fading for ever is not proof that possibily I was given the wrong couple of words to get into our increasingly popular Shrimpers fan site to update our many readers all over the globe in the way you have all become used to. (On saying that, if the images had stayed on the screen and got out we might have trebled our hit count overnight!) Anyway, having tested a couple of articles from our friends at the Press Association it seems we are getting back online safely and not breaking any laws that we are aware of.We are though a couple of days behind events and will be working hard to catch up, including a report from the fine 3-0 reserve win Tuesday, as well as eventually getting the Macclesfield stuff posted and filed away but more importingly getting the ball rolling for our final home game of the season against Burton Albion., including starting to collect your votes for the S24 Player of the Year. What a mess! However, whatever gremlin insisted we couldn't post anything ourselves since EEB's Pub Crawl, amazing that got on, has now been truly excorcised and normal S24 service has been resumed.X-File couple keep out of the great S24 crash but predict result of next Shrimpers gameAny conspiracy theory will not be taken seriously, Mulder and Scully will not be called out of retirement, this was just one of those crazy things, could happen to anyone, though that e-mail from an RM that warned us to stop taking the piss out people doing the best to keep the club above board and ship-shape that arrived early Easter Saturday morning was indeed strange.
