Well, if Southend United are knocked out of the Cup early it looks like manager Paul Sturrock has decided a return to Suffolk when the snow falls, and take on pre-season victims Needham Market in another game! Sturrock: 'The board and the manager at Needham are nice people' Not sure when we're fit it in, but Blues boss Paul Sturrock has agreed to another fixture with Ryman North side Needham Market after last Monday's 5-0 pre-season win at their Bloomfields ground Monday evening. Hope he's told the powers that be at Roots Hall! More than likely though it would be a team probably led by Graham Coughlan with the reduced number of Combination fixtures this season. Luggy even took time out to praise Marketmen Bradley Barber and Pip Boyland, blimey, a reserve team trail sometime in the future for both of them, or he's just a good bloke! Sturrock told www.buryfreepress.co.uk: “He (central-defender Bradley Barber) was a very tidy player – he made the step up to play against pros. Generally, I thought they had some decent players. The right centre-half (Pip Boyland) looked small, but by hell he can jump. The people here are very nice. The board and the manager are nice people and we’ll be back to give them another game in the middle of winter.” Shrimpers Pre-Season Schedule Monday, July 11th - Dartford 0 Southend United 3 Tuesday, July 12th - Great Wakering Rovers 0 Southend United 5   Saturday, July 16th - Dundee 2 Southend United   Sunday, July 17th - Raith Rovers 0 Southend United   Wednesday, July 20th - Braintree Town 1 Southend United X1   Friday, July 22nd - Southend United 1 Ipswich Town   Monday, July 25th - Needham Market 0 Southend United 5   Thursday, July, 28th - SOUTHEND UNITED 1 NORWICH CITY   Saturday, July 30th - Canvey Island (away), 15.00.
