There was a shock for the Shrimpers travelling faithful Saturday afternoon when after a very long trip already to Accrington Stanley, they were told to turn around almost immediately! Sturrock: 'It was the right decision but the wrong timing'After referee Carl Boyeson called off the League two clash between Stanley and Shrimpers at 13.30 due to a waterlogged pitch Blues boss Paul Sturrock was quick to say that he agreed with the decision.Sturrock told www.southendunited.co.uk: "It was the right decision but the wrong timing. The first we heard about it was at 13.00 when our Media Manager called me to let me know it was in doubt. I feel really sorry for the fans who have travelled a long way and spent a lot of money to do so. Something should have been done earlier."However, it seems the home side could have been at fault, the heavy overnight rain was in their town after all.Luggy concluded: "I know the referee was upset he wasn't informed by Accrington first thing and the whole situation could have been handled a lot better."
