Patters up for Accies

Unwanted Southend United striker Matt Paterson has been linked with a move to Scottish First Division side Hamilton Academical FC. Matt Paterson: Off north of the border? www.skysports.com has reported that Shrimpers striker Matt Paterson is set to join Hamilton on a season-long loan deal. If true this would be welcomed by Blues boss Paul Sturrock and free up some wages, we are still waiting to here anything on fellow forward Harry Crawford's possible move to Kettering, that would allow him to improve an area of the team that he wont tell anyone about!   Where could he mean?   Patters has had unsuccessful trails over the close season with League Two rivals Oxford United, and then only last week, Gillingham. (see articles below.)   The site said: 'Hamilton are looking to finalise a deal for Paterson as they strive to bounce back to the SPL at the first attempt following last season's relegation. The season-long agreement would allow Paterson to continue his development and bolster Accies manager Billy Reid's attacking options.'   Once again, we seem to have done this several times over this summer, we wish Matt the best of luck if this present move comes off.   The Accies: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamilton_Academical_F.C.   Stockport fancied him: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk   The Paterson Files   Personal information Full name Matthew Paterson Date of birth 18 October 1989 (1989-10-18) (age 21) Place of birth Dunfermline, Scotland Height 6 ft 2 in (1.88 m) Playing position Striker Club information Current club Southend United Youth career 200?–2007 Bournemouth 2007–2008 Southampton Senior career* Years Team Apps† (Gls)† 2008–2010 Southampton 18 (2) 2010– Southend United 27 (6) 2011 → Stockport County (loan) 10 (3) National team 2008 Scotland U19 2 (0) * Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only and correct as of 9 April 2011 (UTC).† Appearances (Goals).
