Stockport County v Southend United: Shrimpers striker Matt Paterson is on loan at Stockport County but can't take part in Saturday's important clash as part of the deal that took him to Edgeley Park. Paterson: 'I'm just gutted I can't be a part of it because I'd love to play'Southend United striker Matt Paterson is on loan at Stockport County until the end of the season but as part of the deal that kept him at Edgeley Park the former Southampton man will have to watch from the stands, and he's not a happy Hatter.Paterson told www.echo-news.co.uk: "I think it will be a good game because both sides still have plenty to play for. Both teams have plenty to play for as Southend are still trying to get in to the play-offs and Stockport want to stay up so I think it will be end to end stuff. I'm just gutted I can't be a part of it because I'd love to play. I have a lot of good friends still at Southend but Sturrock has stopped me from being involved and who can blame him for that really. I'm just not really sure who I should be cheering for." Stockport though are in deep trouble, bottom of the League Two table and six points from safety having played more games than anyone around them, especially Burton Albion, who will be in the play-offs if they win all their games in hand! However, Paterson, who has scored two goals in eight matches with County, is still expecting a tight clash though there is eleven places and 19 points between the sides! And in all honesty, with Blues boss Paul Sturrock taking such a depleted squad to Greater Manchester for the early Saturday afternoon kick-off (13.00), it could be.Patters continued: "The morale here is still high and there are some very good players in the squad as well who will give Southend a real test. I think Stockport must just have had an awful lot of bad luck to be where they are in the table because they aren't a bad side. I've enjoyed being a part of the team and it's great to be playing again. I've managed to get a couple of goals and I just wish I could be out there again at the weekend."
