Pair to miss out for Shrimpers
Southend look set to be without Bilel Mohsni and Josh Simpson for the Boxing Day clash with Barnet.
Defender Mohsni limped out of the Shrimpers` 2-0 win over Cheltenham with an ankle complaint and although the injury does not require surgery, he is expected to be out until the new year.
On-loan Peterborough midfielder Simpson picked up a similar knock against the Robins, though he may return for Southend's next clash at Crewe.
Defender Peter Gilbert will complete a three-match ban, whilst midfielder Anthony Grant (back) is a doubt.
Goalkeeper Rhys Evans, defender Chris Barker and midfielder Ryan Hall should have recovered from a sickness bug that swept through Paul Sturrock's bug last week and will be in contention to start.
