The Shrimpers on-loan striker Kyle Asante scored a hat-trick for fellow essex boys Canvey Island as the Gulls cruised into the next round of the Ryman League Cup with a 5-1 hammering of Ryman Division One North side Ware, who are bottom of their league though.
However, Canvey boss John Batch insisted to www.echo-news.co.uk: “Ware are a better side then their league position suggests so it was a good win.”
Kyle is down to return to Roots Hall in December, but after this the Gulls may wish him to stay for a little bit longer!
