Morris: 'Even when we went behind last week, still felt we were going to get back in the match'

Torquay United FC: Southend United goalkeeper Glenn Morris used to call Torquay boss and ex-Shrimper Martin Ling 'boss', but only wants to put one over him at the weekend!

Morris: 'Torquay will certainly be disciplined and will look to pass the ball around'

Former Shrimpers winger, he turned out 164 times in the Southend blue over five years, and present Torquay United manager Martin Ling, was in charge of United No.1 Glenn Morris at both youth and first team levels at Leyton Orient, and the London born shot stopper appreciates all he did for him.

Morris told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I have a lot to thank Martin for and it will be good to see him again but of course I want us to beat him this weekend. When I was with Orient, Martin was with the youth team won we did the double and won the Youth Alliance Cup at the Millennium Stadium. He also gave me a few chances when he was in charge of the first team so he’s always been good to me and he will have Torquay well organised. They will certainly be disciplined and will look to pass the ball around too so we’re definitely in for a hard game.”

However, that will all all be forgotten when they face each other at Roots hall Saturday afternoon  and the home side try to keep their unbeaten seven-match run going.

Morris said: “There’s plenty of confidence around the team now and go out all believing we can win the game. Even when we went a goal down against Morecambe last week I still felt we were going to get back in to the match. Last season we would’ve probably huffed and puffed and not got anywhere but we have more belief in ourselves this season.”

No arguing there Glenn, best of luck over you're old boss, we owe him one at Roots Hall!
