Mohsni warning: 'I was a crazy goalkeeper, would always dribble the ball out of my area!'

Barnet FC, Macclesfield Town. Southend United's uutilty player Bilel Mohsni is ready to play anywhere, literally, and don't count out the keeping position just yet!

Bile Mohsni: 'Would be nice to get another one at Macclesfield but it will be hard for us there'

It won't surprise fans of the Shrimpers mercurial French Tunisian Bilel Mohsni that as well as the positions he's turned out for the club this season from right back to left winger he would gladly play in goal, no worries; Bilel's done it before!

Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I’m happy to play anywhere for Southend and that includes being in goal as I’ve played there before too. When I was about 14 or 15 I spent a season and a half playing in goal. I went there midway through one of our matches after our goalkeeper hurt his shoulder and we didn’t have a sub keeper but I did well and the manager kept me in for quite a long time. I did enjoy it but I was a crazy goalkeeper because I would always dribble the ball out of my area. I did set up a few goals by doing that and I would be happy to play there for Southend. But I don’t think I would try running out with the ball at this level.”

And hopefully, no disrespect Bilel, you will not be seen in goal, West Brom loanee Luke Daniels had a decent enough debut in the 3-0 win at Barnet Tuesday evening while usual no.1 Glenn Morris is out injured!

Mohsni said: “I quite liked playing there and it was good to help the team get another good result. We kept a clean sheet and scored three goals so we did well at both ends which was pleasing.”

Still, there was enough in Bilel's play, one flick over the head that took out two Bees players at once was brilliant, for a natural centre-back, to show us what he can do in a forward position, and as well as grabbing his fifth strike of the campaign in controvesial circumstances, (catch the link below for highlights), the Silkmen will be aware of what the Parisian can do in front of goal, he grabbed a brace against them back in January!

Mohsni concluded: “It was good to score on Tuesday and hopefully I can get more to help the team. It would be nice to get another one at Macclesfield but it will be hard for us there.”

It certainly should be tougher that under the lights at Underhill, but S24 has gone for a 1-0 win, (link below for the match preview), Bilel to get the winner?
