Mohsni on Hall: 'When Ryan has the ball, I just do the run and put myself in a good position'

Southend United were blessed with a couple of super subs Saturday in Bilel Mohsni and Ryan Hall, one assisting, the other scoring against Crewe Alexandra, and one acknowledges the assistance he's getting, while manager Paul Sturrock appreciates them both

Mohsni: 'It is the gaffer's choice whether you play or not'   It's all happening with at the Hall at the moment, and not just winger Ryna Hall, though double goalscorer in the 3-1 away win over the Railwaymen last weekend Bilel Mohsni knows full well who he has to thank for his striking exploits at Gresty Road that kept Southend top of League Two.   Mohsni told BBC Essex:"The team played well. I think my place is on the bench for the moment. I just have to wait for another chance. It is the gaffer's choice whether you play or not. Hall has a good left foot. You can see, between last season and now, we know each other. So when Ryan has the ball, I just do the run and put myself in a good position. We do it in training and now we do it in games."   Though primarily a defender the French Tunisian has now scored nine times in 31 league games for the Shrimpers, though there are still concerns whether he can keep his violatile side under control, he is certainly on a good little run at the moment since his last bout of ill-diiscipline that saw him receive a red card against Gillingham last month, and Blues boss Paul Sturrock is under no doubt of his use to the squad, along with ryan of course.   Sturrock said:"To be fair, he's scored some valuable goals for us, but finding him a position is the problem because everybody is playing so well. Hallsy's a crossing machine and when you've got that size of man [Mohsni] coming in at the back post, he's going to be a threat."   No doubt about that, onwards and upwards then for the visit of sixth placed Morecambe on Saturday at Roots Hall, tickets still available for just a fiver!   “What Sturrock has done at Southend is sensational” (from Life's A Pitch)   The S24 Report: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk    A local view: www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk   Post match views from Luggy and Dario: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk ,   Another super sub story from the past: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk   A fiver for the Shrimps, fair for all; have a vote: www.southendunited-mad.co.uk
