Mohsni mashes Alex but; 'I expect to stay on bench for the next game' & other quotes!

Crewe Alexandra 1 Southend United 3: Southend United players and manager were obviously happy to leave Gresty Road with maximum points, and here's some reaction from the, sstill, league leaders.

Sturrock: 'I told Bilel to get in box and he certainly did'

It looked with four minutes left that a point would be a very good result, until Bilel Mohsni came on!

You never know what you're going to get with the tempremental Frenchhman, but the dark side was snuffed out, and it wasn't cards but goals that Bilel was going to bring to the party.

Crewe Alexandra 1 Southend United 3, six wins in a row, five in the league, fifteen straight points, only two goals conceded, sixteen goals scored, all since Bilel last saw red!

Still, it's better to see him stay on the pitch and do some damage to the opposition; a short, but very sweet cameo.

Echoman Chris Phillips was lurking around the changing room as usual to pick up the following utterings from the winning side, starting with Blues boss Paul Sturrock.

Sturrock - 'We didn't play well but we found a way of winning again. We churned it out and I'm delighted. We looked sluggish in midfield. That's why I made my the changes. I told Bilel to get in box and he certainly did.'

The mad Mohsni himself: 'I'm very happy because we won the game. But I expect to stay on bench for next game. I'm a centre back and we defended well."

Even a word about some other game played this morning, now what was the result again?

Bilel said: 'It's been a good day for me but nobody else really wants to talk about the rugby!'

While, as ever, let's leave the last word for now with centre-back Mark Phillips, who nearly grabbed another goal, but wanted to let the travelling faithful know how their amazing support is appreciated.

Phillips - 'Got to thank all the travelling fans, couldnt have got the win without you lot, performance wasnt up to our standards but a wins a win.'
