Mohsni: 'I want to start doing well again for the team and I'm confident we can win tonight'

Southend United's favourite all-rounder Bilel Mohsni is aiming to get back in to the starting eleven for the JPT clash with Dagenham & Redbridge Tuesday evening, and show his new calmer side, due to boxing!

Mohsni: 'The idea is that the boxing can help me release my anger'

Keep calm and carry on! That's what Shrimpers centre-back come forward Bilel Mohsni hopes will convince Blues boss Paul Sturrock to give him a chance when he selects his side to take on Daganham & Redbridge in this evening's Johnson Paint trophy second round tie at their Viictoria Road ground.

Bilel was sent off against Gillingham three weeks ago, a game we ended up winning without him on the pitch, and has only been seen on the subs bench, without coming on as we have racked up four successive victories without conceding a goal to take us to the top of the league.

In that case his temper, he got himself in a bust up after the Carling Cup defeat to Leyton Orient back in August and followed this up at Port Vale with a touch of handbags which saw the club fined £1,000 by the FA.

However, EEB in his preview believes the Frenchman deserves a start against the Daggers and Mohsni himself has started boxing training at the Team Sure Grip base in Westcliff to try and keep his outbursts under control, smack someone in the ring rather than on the pitch!

Mohsni told www.echo-news.co.uk: “I need to learn to control myself and the idea is that the boxing can help me release my anger. I’m enjoying it and I do feel like I’m making some progress with my temper. But I need to play to really show that.”

Agreed, and let's hope it works so we can see him doing what he does best, causing caios amongst the opposition!

In form the bloke's a dangerous weapon, when not, he still is, against his own side!

Moshsni continued: “It has been a little bit frustrating not to play but the team have been doing very well so I can’t complain. We’ve had some really good results but of course I want to play. I hope to get another chance tonight and that I can keep calm too. I want to start doing well again for the team and I’m confident we can win tonight”

Best of luck Bilel.
