Blues former midfielder Alan McCormack quit the club last week along with ex-Captain Adam Barrettt and believes he was treated in a "disgraceful" manner. McCormack: 'Southend really did become my second home'The Irish midfielder, who made 165 appearances for Blues, was paid consistently late last season. And that eventually resulted in McCormack forcing his contract to be cancelled. "The way we have been treated in the last six months can only be summed up in one word and that's disgraceful," said the 26-year-old. "When you work hard all week you expect to be paid at the end of it, and there was just no communication either. "We tried to keep on battling but the problems made it harder. "It's a sad way to have left the club because I did have some fantastic times at Southend and it really did become my second home."
